If any of you saw my Tweets from the past few days, you might have noticed that I posted a few pics of PEI “souvenirs” from my Labour Day weekend trip (for those not familiar, Prince Edward Island is Canada’s smallest province, and also home to my family’s summer cottage
). My mother and I perused some area gift shops for a few hours (two of which I used to work at!), and had some fun mocking the truly ugly cr@p that some of them STILL peddle!
I wanted to give the chance to all of my readers to mock these wonderful pieces equally! Therefore, here are the 7 candidates in the order in which I saw them…
- Candidate 1: Perfect for the person who has everything! Eat off Will’s face 7 days a week, and store your loved one’s ashes in the Royal-adorned urn!
- Candidate 2: Not only was this thing WAY over priced, but I don’t get what you’d do with it! There’s no stand to display it in a cabinet, no hook to hang it up, no way to attach it to a wall…
- Candidate 3: OK, so the earrings aren’t that bad on their own; heck, I’d buy a pair of white shell earrings! However…they change color. And…they have silver PEIs on them…???
- Candidate 4: “Happy 25th anniversary, honey! And the best part is…it’s reversible!”
- Candidate 6: Fred and Doug thought that they’d be safe in the gift shop, only to have price tags slapped over their nostrils…Fred was the first to succumb…
- Candidate 6: At least the salt doesn’t come spewing out of Anne’s mouth (or somewhere else…)
- Candidate 7: There’s really nothing inherently bad about this (even though it is TOTALLY not my style!); it’s the fact that the thing is $5.00 ON CLEARANCE!!! No idea what the original price was!
I’d love to hear my readers’ opinions on these special pieces- poll to follow! I’ll even award a prize (yet-to-be-determined) to the person who responds with the best comment

Fred and Doug get my vote! I’d love to have a couple of stuffed ducks on my mantle!
